Status e News Introduction

Long Weekend

The last for quite a while so I hope you all enjoyed the break. Although we are not publishing an editorial or featured article this week on account of the long weekend, we do introduce two new “Employee Hot Prospects”, which can be accessed from the “hot chilli” link at right and, announce the winners of our Round 11 Footy Tipping Competition as well as our mid year prize winners.

Status Footy Tipping Competition

Three perfect tippers this week, two of whom had adjusted margins of just 1 point and the third just 2 points – so near and yet so far Lisa. As for Kezza - spewing - a perfect tipping margin predicted on Friday night and 7 correct tips with only her beloved Port Power doing the dirty on her. That’s the second time that’s happened this year and on both occasions it was the Power who let the side down and another $1,000 goes begging from the NAB.

This week’s winners however are Mike Lock of Metal Spinners Pty Ltd and another female Status employee - Bev Felmingham - from our Edwardstown office. Congratulations, Mike and Bev and even though you were both just 1 point away from $1,000, unlike Kezza, at least you can drown your sorrows.

Round 11 this week marks the midway point of the 2008 AFL football season, and it is also the week that determines our mid year prize of two tickets to the Michael Buble concert on 17th June 2008, next Tuesday, as well as refreshments during the concert interval and dinner prior to the event at The Governor Hindmarsh Hotel. Our mid year prize this year is valued at $350 per couple and is awarded to:

  • 1st, 10th and 50th ranked tipper on the Status AFL Footy Tipping leader board, and their partner
  • The tipper with the lowest cumulative margin rounds 1-11, and their partner
  • The lowest ranked tipper, and their partner, who has submitted deliberative tips in each of the rounds 1-11, without defaulting to the away game teams allocated when tips are not submitted prior to matches

Our lucky tippers at the conclusion of round 11 are:

  • 1st and with 72 correct tips is Paul Clutterbuck of Yakka Pty Ltd
  • 10th Lisa Perry of Status Employment Services
  • 50th Scott Foody of Status Employment Services
  • Lowest cumulative margin and the only person still in the 200’s (292 points) is Nadine Wessel of McIntyre Robertson Scarborough
  • Lowest ranked tipper with 52 correct tips and ranked 84 out of 96 is Brian Mercer of Plastic Products

Congratulations to all our mid year prize winners; we will be in contact with you shortly to provide further details.

To everyone else, and in particular to those who also had a perfect tipping round this week, better luck next round and don’t forget to check out the leader board by logging into the AFL website, where you can view your position on the ladder by selecting the Status Employment Services competition.

Remember, you can join the competition at anytime during the year and will be allocated all of the away teams from previous rounds as your starting position on the leader board. If you would like to join but are having difficulty registering, please contact our footy tipping administrator, Dora Zalunardo, on 8377 0101, and she will arrange for someone to step you through the process.
