For employers, Commonwealth Government incentives and State Government Payroll Tax rebates are offered to offset the cost of training, and a "no obligation" probationary period provides added assurance even when employing trainees according to your own selection criteria.
Status is your partner in matching workplace activities to meet traineeship requirements. We also provide on-going support and mentoring by accredited personnel with industry experience to ensure the efficient management of your traineeship and workplace assessments.
Benefits to Employers
- A range of Commonwealth Government incentives from $1,250 are available for eligible trainees, to help reduce the cost of training
- Wages paid or payable to a trainee may be exempt from payroll tax if trainee meets eligibility criteria
- You are able to employ a trainee according to your own selection criteria
- There is a no obligation probationary period for all contracts of training
- Trainees are motivated, dedicated and more likely to become long-term employees
Benefits to the Trainee
- A traineeship gives you the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification, formalising the skills you learn on the job
- At a Certificate II level, all training is provided on-the-job during your normal working hours, so in effect you are paid to earn a qualification
- At higher levels, training is usually conducted off-the-job in the more traditional style of apprenticeship learning, whereby you are paid by your employer to attend training off site during your normal hours of work
