This data, released today, shows South Australian employment, in trend terms, increased for the fourth consecutive month in May 2009, to a record high 795,600 persons. Employment grew 0.2 per cent (+1,600) last month, and by 0.9 per cent (+7,300) over the year to May. Both growth rates were higher than the national average (0.0 per cent and 0.1 per cent, respectively). Both SA full and part-time employment grew in May, with slightly more part-time jobs being created compared to full-time positions. Employment growth was largely driven by more females in work, while male employment continued to trend down.
